Keep your pet safe this winter

Fur isn’t always enough for our pets.  When it is very cold out, please bring your pet indoors. Dogs under 10 lbs. or with short hair need a coat or sweater because they get cold faster than other dogs.

If it's too cold for you, it's probably too cold for your pet too! So keep your animals in the warm indoors. If they are left out in the cold, they quickly become disoriented, lost, stolen, injured or killed.

Dogs can sustain cuts or abrasions from icy surfaces including the crust on top of snow.  Be sure to wipe their paws after they have been outside.

If your cat enjoys sitting by the window, take care of drafts and use a padded perch or blanket to hold in his or hers body heat.

Do not over-bathe your pet during cold spells. Washing too often can increase the chance of dry, flaky skin. They need the essential oils for their coat!
